Covid-19 Story

In February 2020 the Centre for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) was experiencing 12,000 tele-health visits per week. Now after the spread of Covid-19 around the world, in the USA they are experiencing 1m per week. For some that is more efficient, more convenient and a smarter way of working. For others it is a frightening shift in access to healthcare. The Covid-19 story of one of rapid change in demand and supply. It is a shock to both sides of the equation. Patients have had to adapt to the new way of working and clinicians have had to discover new technology, adapt their diagnostic technique and have discovered new efficiencies along the way, for example in prescribing. It is good for some, and will get better, but we can not forget those who are digitally disconnected and need help in this new world.
